About the Team
UTS Motorsports Electric is a UTS student based team that designs and manufactures an open-wheeled formula style race car. Here at UTS ME, our primary goal is to facilitate the growth of our student body both in character and in terms of our skills. We believe the best method of achieving this is through the practical application of our studies in competitions such as Formula SAE Australasia (FSAE-A) and Formula Student Sydney.
Formed in 1999 as UTS Motorsports our team competed in internal combustion part of FSAE-A for over a decade. However in 2015 we recognised the necessity for motorsports to transition into a sustainable energy source and began designing our own electric motorsports cars.
Our team currently consists of over 20 students from the various disciplines of Engineering, Business and Communications. We are supported by the Faculty of Engineering and IT, with experienced faculty members appointed to provide guidance through the project.
